This is a great book for research. I am using it for an article I am writing. It covers many different topics and gives a clear insight to LBJ's thinking on issues and the reactions of other politicians on issues in the turbulent 1960's
I actually was fortunate enough to buy this as a tape first then a book last, I'll say the book is very faithful to the tapes. The tapes were a tad better because you could hear it...that said, the book is a fascinating snapshot into a presidency recovering from a horrible transition, this volume, covers a president trying to hit the ground running, I think Bechloss is at his best in this book!
Absolutely fascinating. I've listened over and over.
