I was looking for more start up info, how to finance a clothing business, resources to contact, and more instructionsor examples of business start ups from A to Z.

Either rent this thing or buy it used. I had to rent this textbook for a class I had and did not like the content. It was honestly a boring read even though I enjoyed the class information.

Great textbook breaks the industry down in simple terms

The quality of the book is bad, I have only 2 months with the book and already falling apart. Apparently, the previous person who used it didn't take care of it. Although, the book contents are very helpful for my Textile Apparel class but bad quality.

It's a fairly nice book, it covers the basics of fashion and also how the buying process works, plus seasonality, will recommend this to some one who is new to the business.

I am a Hemingway fan, but I put off reading A Moveable Feast until I was 39 year old and vacationing in Paris. I had been told by multiple people over the years that it wasn't a good book; rather, a collection of mostly-real stories about Hemingway's years in Paris during his early 20's.Three things you should take when traveling in Paris: this book, a guidebook, and lots of money. (It's still a good book if you are not in Paris)Hemingway was newly married and soon a father while living in the Latin Quarter. It's incredible to read about Hemingway's experiences and walk the very streets he wrote about. A number of the Cafes and Restaurants that he frequented are still running, and some of them have the same interior (the post WW1 atmosphere has changed). Hemingway discusses his newfound poverty, which came on suddenly after he quit journalism to write fiction. Ezra Pound, Gertrude Stein, and F Scott Fitzgerald appear in multiple stories. It appears that Hemingway is unsparingly honest about all of them. His portrait of Fitzgerald is particularly poignant - he drinks too much, is a massive problem when he drinks, Zelda is a complete nightmare, and she encourages his drinking. Hemingway figures because she is jealous of his genius.There are numerous descriptions about Parisian haunts (Sylvia Beach's bookshop, the Seine) foods, and fascinating conversations with French veterans and his little son.

One star for this gem of English literature? Yes, if you are considering the paperback edition with the orange-ish cover with a photo of a walkway by the Seine, BEWARE. "All of the s adnes s of the city came s uddenly with the firs t cold rains of winter . . . . " Even my auto-correct tries to fix this! Hemingway wrote a cozy, wonderful piece for those curious for from what "Midnight in Paris" hails, an insider's flawlessly written account of those heady years when everyone who was anyone was living in Paris. But in this miserably typefaced edition, there is a space after every single "s" in the entire book. There is no publication page (with the date, location of publication, etc). It is not appended with Hemingway's additional musings, as is the hardcover. I purchased this as a gift, thinking a paperback would suffice. Who can read anything published this way? Do NOT purchase it. Amazon, FIX THIS.

This is a posthumous book comprised of fragments. Some of the writing is crisp and brilliant; other parts are morose and sophomoric. But overall, we get a good glimpse of Hemingway's mostly happy years in Paris in the mid twenties. The author claims there is more fiction than fact, an arbitrary and unexplained process where he chooses who and what to include and what to leave out. He claims that Ezra Pound and F. Scott Fitzgerald were very close friends, and yet the descriptions of the former are fleeting and those of the latter rather depressing and uncomplimentary. He seems to enjoy trashing Ford Maddox Ford. Sketches of Gertrude Stein and Sylvia Beach are mostly positive, although he gets some digs in on Stein at the end. Vignettes about horse racing, boxing, skiing, drinking flesh out some of the author's interests and milieu. The description of some by now obscure painters and writers shows rapier wit and description.The clear draw is insight into the writer's early life in a marvelous city most of us love. We must keep in mind he was in his mid-twenties too, and not yet an established author. Physical and mental scars from WWI had not healed. Themes of mental illness and alcoholism are explored in other people, not himself.The great cafes of Montparnasse and Saint Germaine remain, somewhat gentrified, perhaps still a stage for all the diverse people who frequent them. Today's artists and writers probably can't afford to live in Hemingway's old neighborhoods, but they are somewhere within the Peripherique, recording their Paris. The author would understand.Affection for his first son and first wife, "the heroine" of the book abound. There are some interesting insights into the craft of writing. The overlong introduction and postscripts by his relatives may or may not be of interest to the reader who is not "a scholar". For those who love the city, and/or the author, there is much here to savor and some to ignore.

I cannot recommend this book highly enough to give to high school college-bound graduates!! This book will help prepare the college-bound student for many of the cultural and worldly pressures they will face on campus and give strategies to have victory over the temptations and clashing world views that will be thrown his/her way.This book is biblically and doctrinally sound, and Chapter 4 is a must-read!! The author, David Wheaton, clearly presents the gospel to help the reader decipher whether they truly have a saving knowledge of Jesus Christ and how to know and furthermore what to do if they don't! I think this book is not only a great gift to give to Christian graduates, but I believe it can be a great evangelism tool to give to graduates who do not yet have a personal relationship with Christ.I give or recommend this book to any college-bound graduate I can! I think this book should be required college-prep material!! If you are a parent of a college-bound student, equip your son or daughter with the wisdom from God's Word to help them stand strong in their faith. This book will help you to do just that!Thank you, David Wheaton, for this excellent book! I only wish it were around when I went to college!

I enjoyed reading this book over my winter break, and it definitely prepared me to return to college for second semester! Wheaton uses a ton of scripture to make his point, and his writing was very organized and easily digested; every high school senior and college student should read this book! If you work at it, it is a quick read, and a person can easily read a chapter a night. After having a semester of college under my belt, I felt that I could relate more to his advice rather than someone who has never experienced the college life; however, if I HAD read it before entering campus, I might not have done some of the things that I did (the book was very motivating in that way, particularly with its use of scripture and key verses). It's very difficult for a Christian to enter campus and keep his or her faith intact, even if they are spiritually prepared beforehand (as I was). As a result, this book is useful because of its simplicity and easiness to understand, yet it packs a powerful punch!

This is a great book and is written very well. Not preachy but lays out consequences for choices that can be made. I have given it to my daughter to read as she heads out for her first year of college. I will be praying she heeds the advice given. I highly recommend this book!

I'm always looking for great books to give to Christian students to prepare and equip them for the challenges of college life -- especially those that help them prepare for the challenges to their faith. In the past, the best book on the market was J. Budziszewski's How to Stay Christian in College; but I may go out on a limb and say that Wheaton's University of Destruction is even better!Wheaton does a great job of weaving the personal testimony of his own experience (which was not positive), but the truth of Scripture to give a young person a solid foundation from which to make their own decisions. And the best part is that Wheaton tells it like it is -- no sugar-coating of the college experience, no rose-colored glasses that "Christian" kids don't face the same pressures and temptations that other students face -- Wheaton addresses alcohol, sex and authority issues with honesty and gives students real solutions to the dilemmas they will face on every college campus.I love the book -- short enough that students can read it; but deep enough that when they do, they'll learn and be challenged by the truth presented clearly in each chapter. Parents of teenaged students, this would be a great graduation gift...or even better to give your student during their junior year as they begin to look at colleges and consider what campus best fits their goals and calling in life.
